Have you been told…..

  • Only breathe into your belly

  • Don’t let your chest move

  • Shoulders down and back

  • Stretch your pecs to fix rounded shoulders

  • Stand up straight

  • Squeeze your glutes & tighten your abs

….in order to fix your breathing and/or Posture problem?

Don’t worry, you’re not the only one. I hear all of these statements on a daily basis, from frustrated new clients. Here’s how my philosophy is different.

Sole PT’s Philosophy

Breathing is the one exercise that can have a systemic effect on the body. Breathing can effect our nervous system, stress levels, cardiovascular health, muscle tension, and joint mobility. One of the best things you can do for your body is to teach yourself to breathe properly with good rib movement and diaphragm activation. Dr. Simon feels….

  • Ribs, just like our other joints, are meant to move

  • How we Breathe affects our posture. For example, someone with rounded shoulders has a hard time getting the front of their ribcage to move.

  • Breathing directly affects your diaphragm, deep abdominals, pelvic floor, and joints which Are Essential for healthy bodies

  • Posture and the way we carry our body is often a contributor to our pain

A posture issue is never just a tight muscle!
